I wanted blogging to be more a part of my workflow- something I see as REQUIRED for my business. I wanted to feel "in control" of my blogging. And I wanted to get out of my rut of "here's a beautiful wedding!" over & over again. Writing out on index cards blog ideas was a very big lightbulb moment.
The concept of evergreen content & sharing content again has been super important. I've always kind of felt like a blog post lives once & then goes away. This has reminded me I can keep reposting old work. I wrote an "evergreen post" for the first time in a couple of years not too long ago. It was an article about the perks of a post-wedding session. I wanted to write it because I wanted to shoot more of them & my clients tend to not "get it". Questions & Answers

Is this right for me?

The Life Boss Society is for you if you feel like you're just not connecting with your ideal clients. Writing a blog post is the last item on your to-do list, and you keep pushing it down further. You feel like your Social Media posts are random and you don't think they are working. You're never quite sure what to write, or why you should even bother. You feel like every client just comes to you asking about your prices first, and that you just blend in in your market. You know what you offer is amazing, you just wish that you could explain it to people without just stating what you do and hoping that they remember you later. You want a plan. You want it to be easy. You want to be confident in what you are putting out there online.

It's not for you if you are the type that has a marketing calendar, and editorial calendar for all of your blog posts, your social media accounts set up 6 months in advance, you never feel like the Imposter Syndrome is taking over, and you are comfortable at a cocktail party telling people what you do in one sentence -- keep rocking with your bad self! You're GOOD!

Blogging: does it really matter?

Social media is the darling of the party when it comes to building your web presence, but blogging? Blogging is REALLY where it is at. There are so many things for you that blogging can do that social media simply won't. When you write a blog post, it lives on forever. People will visit your website and read one blog post, and then go read another, and then another one. If they are able to learn about you and connect with who you are - building their Know, Like & Trust factor - they will stay on your site for a long time. Both social media AND your blog matter; they work together, not separately.

Will you be keeping me accountable?

The goal of the Facebook Group for the community and the Q&A calls is to help you out when you have questions. If you want detailed feedback on your homework and private coaching calls through the program, I have a one-on-one Strategy Coaching option available.

Is there any way to measure my results?

What is measured, grows. You will have a tracker for you to complete that will allow you to track your blog stats along with your social media following, your email list growth, and whatever other numbers you choose to track. This way we can see where you started, where you are at the end of the course, and how your actions make an impact.

Will I be able to work with you one-on-one?

Private one-on-one work is not a part of this course or membership. You can add private one-on-one coaching with me for an additional fee at checkout if there is availability.

You mentioned videos; will there be transcripts?

There are currently not video transcripts, but they will be added in the future. I understand that we all have different learning styles, and I want you to be able to learn about what was covered in the videos.

Is it just you doing the teaching?

I will be the one doing all of the teaching for the core foundation of the course & membership. Bonuses will be added at a later date that will feature people that are experts in other fields, but they will not be covering the primary Foundation course content.

Are you going to teach me how to use WordPress, install themes, write CSS, or anything else like that?

There are a lot of resources out there already that will tell you how to install WordPress or your theme -- I don't want to reinvent the wheel here. Plus this varies from one hosting company to another. Teaching how to do it just isn't my thing, but I'm always happy to help point out a solid resource for it.

You mentioned WordPress - I use SquareSpace. Is that ok?

ABSOLUTELY! All of the concepts remain the same. I do not have personal experience using SquareSpace so I can't help you with any tech issues - but everything we discuss will be things you should be able to easily do no matter which platform you're on!

How long will I have access for?

You will have access as long as you choose to be a member. As a member in good standing, your access will include any updates, changes, new videos, all of it.

Can I download the materials?

You can download the PDFs for your use, along with available audio files. Videos are only accessible through the membership portal. Access is for YOUR USE ONLY. Just so we're clear. Any other use is a violation of copyright law. This is one time when sharing is NOT caring. Or cool.

How do you know all this stuff?

I first started working as a web consultant & digital strategist with Fortune 500 companies back in 2000, the same year that I started blogging. (I named WordPress in 2003.) I have been consulting in one form or another ever since. I launched my photography business in 2007, started offering business coaching to photographers in 2011, and in 2015 shifted my focus to entirely helping others grow their business. While my job title has changed over the years, the passion for using the internet to grow your business, and helping others plan their strategy, has never stopped.

What do you do in your spare time?

Confession time here: I'm a total nerd. I pretty much spend ALL of my time online. Not just online, but thinking about all the things that make up The Life Boss Society -- you will find me reading articles on how to improve your blog, how to grow your Instagram following, how to run Facebook ads. You will find me in Facebook groups talking about how to grow your business. I'm not kidding when I say that I *LIVE* for this stuff. I have for over 17 years. Sales, marketing, branding, blogging - all of it.

Building a business that is a laptop lifestyle means that I'm not tied to one place though, and I also LOVE to travel. In 2013-2014, I drove solo in my Mini Cooper to the lower 48 states in the USA and 4 Canadian provinces. 40,000 miles. All while running a full-time business. My goal is to visit all 59 US National Parks; I'm up to 24 so far, camping (yes, solo) in many of the ones I've visited. Next up? I'm planning to drive to Alaska!
